Eagle Lake is unique in many respects. Most importantly is the fact that it is fundamentally a closed ecosystem. The lake is regenerated by springs, small creeks and rainfall, and is not connected to any other water systems. Any deterioration of the lake or the quality of its water will be the result of activities of those with residences on or in close proximity to the lake. One need only look at other waterways in the province, including the Great Lakes and the various water systems connected by canals, to observe the pollution and disruption that can be created for lakeside residents by events originating in distant locations, to realize the advantage we have. That is why continued vigilance and stewardship is particularly important for our lake. Collectively, we have the ability to ensure that the lake quality remains at least as good as it is now.

With these goals in mind the Association members undertake a number of activities on an annual basis to monitor lake quality and maximize the enjoyment of those who use it.

See our News & Projects page for an overview of some of these undertakings.
